Christmas Wreath Workshop 2019
Join the beautiful Emi for an equally beautiful morning of serene creativity.
Emi studied fine arts in the United States before returning to Tokyo to study Japanese art, and her ability to create sublime beauty is inspiring. Her regular practice of the strict disciplines of calligraphy, dancing and ikebana allow her to access the freedom of pure creativity.
IKEBANA is the Japanese art of flower arranging, inspired by the desire to create harmony between humanity and the natural world. Emi considers Ikebana a conversation between herself and the flowers and an invitation to god to come closer.
Ikebana is, fundamentally, an exploration of the frictions between the visible and the invisible, life and death, permanence and ephemerality, luxury and simplicity. A search for balance between opposites.
You will not only take home a beautiful arrangement, you will also receive your own "stayput" (kenzan in Japanese) so you can continue to create at home.
ABSTRACT PAINTING the gentle guidance of Emi will have you heading home with an abstract canvas artwork inspired by your floral arrangement.
